Privacy Statement

1. What information do we collect and what do we do with it?
When you enroll as a student or subscriber (“User”) on our site or related courses, as part of the enrolling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, email, phone number, and credit card information. We will use the personal information you give us in order to process your payment for the purchase of goods or services. Email marketing: we may send you emails about our site and related course(s), registration, course content, your course progress or other updates. We may also use your email to inform you about u
pdates to the company website and information relative to the company, including updated courses and offerings.


2. How do you get my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to become a user on our site, make a purchase, or participate in the course, you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.


3. How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us at jenny@cognitiveslp.com.

4. Disclosure
Generally, we do not disclose your personal information not third parties without your consent, with the exception of the following circumstances:
a. We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so
b. In order to enforce our rights if you violate our Terms of Service.
c. We may disclose your information to third parties that work with us in order to provide you with the products and services provided here. Any information disclosed will be used solely in connection with these courses and for no other purpose.

5. Payment:
If you make a purchase on our site, we use a third-party payment processor such as Stripe. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. We do not have access to the information that you furnish to the third party payment processor. We are not responsible for any use or misuse of the information by the processor. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and related courses and its service providers.

6. Security
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

7.  Cookies

We collect cookies or similar tracking technologies. When you browse our site, we automatically receive your internet protocol (IP) address(es) in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser, operating system, and network. We collect non-personally identifiable information about you in a number of ways, including tracking your activities through your IP address, device characteristic, embedded scripts, time / date of contact, tracking metrics, or most-recently visited URL. This information can be used to track your session on our website. Cookies may also be used to customize our website content for you as an individual. We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily submit such information to us, by, for example, filling out a survey or registration form. We may disclose personal information (1) if it’s in response to a legal process, e.g. in response to a court order or subpoena, or in response to a law enforcement agency’s requests, (2) in response to a charge-back inquiry from our merchant bank about your payment for products, or (3) if you violate our Terms of Service. 8. Web Analysis Tools
We may use web analysis tools that are built into the Cognitive SLP website to measure and collect anonymous session information.

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance (COPPA): We do not collect any information from anyone under 18 years of age in compliance with COPPA.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if

11. Use of Third Party Services

We use trusted third party systems as our data processors for technical and organizational purposes, including for payments, e-commerce platform, and email marketing. In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. Terms of Use

Cognitive SLP maintains this website, any courses offered and other linked and related sites (the “Site”) for the use of its customers, vendors, students, and other Site users (“Users”) upon agreement to the following terms. Please read the terms carefully before using the Site. Use of this website indicates acceptance of these “Terms of Use” and forms a binding agreement between you and Cognitive SLP. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use this Site.

1. Use of Site
Cognitive SLP provides various materials, information, quizzes, tests, questions, articles, news and other information on this and related sites and in courses offered through this site (the “Materials”). Cognitive SLP authorizes each User to view and download
one copy of the Materials. Materials may be downloaded and a maximum of one copy of the Materials may be printed provided that Users make no modifications to the Materials, and Cognitive SLP retains all copyright and other proprietary notices contained in the original Materials on any copies of the Materials. Users may not modify the Materials at this Site in any way or reproduce, share or distribute them. Users will keep all Materials confidential, and will not sell, auction, loan, rent, give away, describe, summarize, or otherwise reveal the Materials or their contents, to any other person or entity.

2. Length of Use
For live courses, users have access to the online course, which has been purchased, at registered session time only. For recorded sessions, user has unlimited access to the online course, which has been purchased, for 90 days. 

 

3. Payment Terms

You must have a valid debit or credit card to purchase any products or services from us. All payments are due upon order processing. If a payment is not received or payment method is declined, the site subscription will not remain active. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Stripe, and PayPal. You agree to pay all charges incurred by users of your credit card, debit card, or other method of payment.


4. No Refunds
All purchases are final. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.

 

5. Third-Party Content

Certain content, products and services available via our service may include materials from third-parties. The third-party links on this site may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us and not under our control. User shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Cognitive SLP and its agents and employees from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, costs, expenses, obligations, liabilities, damages, recoveries, and deficiencies, including interest, penalties, and reasonable attorney fees and costs, that Cognitive SLP may incur or suffer and that result from the performance if Cognitive SLP's Services and (i) from User’s breach or failure to perform any of the obligations set forth in this Agreement, or (ii)
from User’s negligence or any willful act, or the negligence or willful act of any of User's agents, employees or other persons, or (iii) from User's failure to comply with, or breach by User of, any applicable federal, state or local laws and regulations.

11. Termination
Any breach of these Terms of Use automatically terminates your authorized use of the Site. Cognitive SLP reserves the right in our discretion to refuse, remove, or restrict your access, and terminate your use of this site at any time, for any reason.

12. Applicable Law
The Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA. Any dispute that arises relating to this Agreement shall be settled by arbitration in Massachusetts, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, provided that discovery shall be governed by the civil procedure rules of Massachusetts or any successor statute, and judgment upon the award rendered may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. User agrees to waive any objection to the jurisdiction of such venue or any right to trial by jury. Failure to enforce strict performance of the Terms of Use of Use shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. 

13. Effective Date and Updates
The Terms are effective as of February 21, 2023, and are subject to change without prior notice by Cognitive SLP at any time. Any changes will be posted to this site. Please check for changes regularly. Your use of this Site after such changes constitutes your agreement to such changes.
