Strengthen your child's ability to
think, learn, and remember

Daily routines that used to run smoothly now feel rushed, disorganized, or out of flow.

Maybe homework that used to take twenty minutes now takes two hours and ends in tears. Maybe daily routines that used to run smoothly now feel rushed, disorganized, or out of flow. Maybe since the concussion, your child seems foggy, forgetful, or just not quite themselves. Maybe you've been told "just give it time" so many times you've stopped believing it.

As a parent, it can feel overwhelming knowing how to support your child.

You're carrying a lot of questions. Will my child fall behind? Will they be okay academically? Why does our whole house feel tense and on edge right now? Am I doing enough? What am I even supposed to do?

Imagine your child focusing in class, remembering due dates without being reminded.

They get through homework without a meltdown, and bring home grades they're proud of, while your home feels calmer too. This is possible, but here's what I want you to know.

When a brain is recovering from a concussion or TBI, or working differently because of ADHD or a learning difference, skills like focus, memory, and organization need real support to develop, not just patience and time. That support is exactly what I provide.

At Cognitive SLP, I specialize in cognitive rehabilitation and executive function coaching for school-aged students with concussion/TBI, ADHD, and executive function challenges. I work closely with parents too, so you have real support and a clear next step, not just another search result.

About Jenny

Hi, I'm Jenny Traver, a speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP) and certified brain injury specialist (CBIS). I work with children and teens on the thinking skills needed for daily life — attention, memory, planning, and follow-through.

For some students, that means building executive function skills that homework, projects, and routines depend on: starting tasks, managing time, and getting things done without a parent standing over their shoulder.

For others, it means navigating the specific effects of a concussion or brain injury — recovering the cognitive skills needed to return to school and daily life while the brain is still healing.

Some students need help building these skills for the first time. Others need help getting them back. Either way, we're closing the same gap: knowing what to do, and actually being able to do it.

I also work closely with parents — helping you understand what's going on, advocate for your child at school, and step back from managing every step so your child has room to practice, and eventually own, these skills themselves.

You don't have to manage this alone.

We'll build a plan that works around how your child's brain actually works. Every session happens online, so the strategies we build in session actually carry into real life, homework, classroom, home. You'll be part of it too: ongoing coaching for you is built in, so you always know how to support your child between sessions. And when it's helpful, I'll coordinate directly with your child's doctors and school team, so you're not the only one holding all the pieces together.

I'd be honored to help you carry that load.

Cognitive Rehabilitation & Executive Function Coaching is right for your family if:

  • Your child had a concussion or traumatic brain injury and isn't "back to normal" weeks or months later

  • Homework and daily routines have turned into a daily battle

  • You've been told to "wait and see," but your gut says something needs to change

  • Your child is bright yet struggles to focus, remember, or follow through

  • You're not sure what's a normal part of growing up versus something that needs support

  • You're exhausted from being the only one managing it all
